What SlotFlip does

SlotFlip lets a client who has booked a barber appointment, and cannot make it, sell that appointment to someone else. The shop keeps the chair full and is paid for the haircut.

SlotFlip is the marketplace. The haircut is between you and the shop. We do not cut hair and we are not the barber. The shop is responsible for the service it provides.

Who can use SlotFlip

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• You must give true information and keep your account to yourself.
• You are responsible for what happens on your account.

Selling an appointment

• You can only list an appointment you booked yourself, in your own name.
• To list it, you pay SlotFlip the haircut price plus a card fee. The haircut price comes from the shop’s booking system. You see the full amount before you pay.
• You pick the asking price, within the limits the app shows you.
• Once someone buys it, the appointment is theirs. You may not go to it, change it or cancel it.
• If it does not sell, you keep the appointment. The haircut is already paid for.

Buying an appointment

• You pay the price shown in the app. It cannot change after you see it.
• The appointment is moved into your name in the shop’s booking system.
• The haircut is already paid for. You only tip at the shop, if you want to.

Fees

The profit on a sale is the asking price minus the haircut price. SlotFlip keeps 20% of the profit. A shop may keep a share of what is left, from 0% up to half. The seller gets the rest, plus the haircut price back. The seller sees these shares before listing. The buyer sees the whole price before paying. No fees are added afterwards.

The card fee paid to list is not returned when an appointment sells or does not sell. It is returned when the shop cancels or pauses resales, as the refund policy explains.

Refunds

Refunds follow our refund policy, which is part of these terms.

Payments

Payments and payouts are handled by Stripe. By selling, you agree that we may pay you through Stripe. Card numbers go straight to Stripe and are never stored by SlotFlip.

What you may not do

• List an appointment you do not have, or that is not yours.
• Buy and resell appointments as a business.
• Arrange payment outside SlotFlip to get around its fees.
• Misuse, attack or try to break the app.

We can suspend or close an account that does any of these.

Our responsibility

We work hard to keep SlotFlip running and correct, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for the haircut itself, or for losses beyond the amount you paid us for the appointment in question. [LAWYER TO REVIEW THIS SECTION]

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top. If a change is big, we will tell you in the app or by email.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE, LIKELY INDIANA].
